Thanks to Wendy Bendoni, I was invited to attend the FMM Innovation Summit at Woodbury University this past weekend. It was an excellent opportunity for me to stay educated on the latest marketing tools and innovations.

The summit focused on:

  • Discussion: Building A Lifestyle Brand and Its Culture
  • Evolving Digital Landscapes: Media and Publishing
  • Digital Innovation + Design: How Technology is Changing Merchandising & Physical Environments
  • Video, Transmedia and Branded Content: Defining Convergence Culture and Measuring ROI in Multi-Platform Initiatives
  • Gamification: How to Engage and Reward Actions through Social Games
  • Evolving Digital Landscapes: How To Engage Fans & Friends In The Social Ecosystem (video directly below)

I learned so much from the panels, speakers, experts and the entire summit as a whole.

For any marketers or future company owners here are some of my favorite tips from the pros:

  1. When creating a video tell a story
  2. Focus on retention rather than one-way communication (especially on social media platforms)
  3. Create engaging content because consumers use and search for it
  4. Try not to over edit videos
  5. Video Commerce is the next best things to being in there (the store) in person

I couldn’t possibly cover everything but you can catch up at:
