Olivia Pope has Killer Professional Style

27 Sep

Over the weekend I starting watching a new show on Netflix, called Scandal ! Not only is the main character played by the lovely, Kerry Washington who is one of only a few African-American women to land a lead role on prime-time television. The first to do so since 1974. Now you can understand why I’m blown away by Scandal and much more!

The show is based on Judy Smith’s life, a damage control specialist/lawyer/PR Executive, who is a co-producer for the show along side Shonda Rhimes, creator of  longtime popular series Grey’s Anatomy. The show is about Olivia Pope, a crisis management specialist who fixes clients. Beyond the plot of the show,  it encompasses some killer fashion choices that Olivia Pope wears that make you want to update your business attire.

It never occurred to me that professional wardrobe could be feminine, stylish and portray leadership. However, after watching this show along with another of my favorites, Damages I want to upgrade my closet with a few Oliva Pope essentials, especially in time for fall.

I want this zip up off-white top!

I’m looking for a new trench but I think I’ll stick to camel but we’ll see.

I need to layer a couple long elegant necklaces, done!

The seafoam blouse compliments the entire ensemble.

Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender Heat Up W Magazine’s August Cover

20 Jul
W’s August cover story with Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender, stars of Ridley Scott‘s new film Prometheus.
According to W Magazine, in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender play siblings of the future: Fassbender is a highly advanced robot named David, a kind of favorite son to the father of Theron’s character, Meredith Vickers. While Vickers overcompensates for her insecurities by being bossy, David is smooth and brilliantly manipulative. Their rivalry reveals each other’s central flaw—Vickers is too emotional and David too cerebral—but they share the goal of supremacy on their own terms. This essentially human conflict between the heart and the head underscores the larger themes of the film: science versus religion; reason versus emotion; the enticement of the unknown versus the evil that lurks within. Add a great many scary creatures that resemble a mash-up of male and female genitals and you have a grand existential battle amid all the sci-fi gore.

Kim Sits Front Row at BET Awards

2 Jul

Kim Kardashian attended the 2012 BET Awards in a body-hugging white dress. She happened to match her beau Kanye West. Coincidence? I think not but either way do you think she could walk away Best Dressed of the night? Wrong again but it does compliment her physique and she does look picture perfect.
