Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2011 – Guest attended and supported designer Alicia Estrada. She has she reintroduced us to the 40’s with her spring and summer 2012 collection from Stop Staring. Fans of her designs include Bridget Marquardt and other fashion-conscious celebrities. Guests gathered at the St. Vibiana’s Cathedral for the 7:30pm show. It started a bit later than scheduled, but was well worth the wait and only increased our anticipation for the presentation.
The vintage inspired collection didn’t let down. Many of the pieces from the collection channeled an island resort vibe with tree branch prints on body-hugging tropical dresses, jumpsuits and cocktail dresses. Floral patterns and polka dots showered high-waisted skirts and midriff tops, which were paired with faux fur shrugs. It was a trip down to coco cabaña equipped with retro shades and nude tights.
